Hey, sorry i have been lacking on the posting, it’s been a hell of a couple months. Back in the beginning of December the pipes broke in my bathroom. Since my bathroom is upstairs over my office, you can only imagine the carnage. Everything got ruined. Everything. I had water coming out in the gallons from my can light fixtures, and running down my walls in sheets. It was the worst thing ive ever seen.
That night, i went to bed at about 12 am. (normal) and the cats were in my bathroom, in the shower.. I thought, well, how odd right? Shrugged it off and went to bed.
About 45 minutes later, i hear gma downstairs yelling “LORI LORI OMG LORI!” I launch outta bed, thinking omg shes fallen, something bad has happened… throw on a robe, and run downstairs. She’s ok (whew!) but she takes me fast to the office…. and,
oh hell
oh double hell.
the rooms weeping water. gallons, tons, of water.
well, why did not you just shut it off right? One word.
panic.
Where in the world is the water shut off. lol. crap!! Oh yeah, it’s out in the pump house in the yard! It’s like 3,000 degrees below zero, so i pull my boots on and run like crazy for the pump house. omg omg omg it’s cold. I get to the door, whip it open (and my bathrobe, did i mention it’s cold?)
standing there, trying to catch my breath… now what. There’s a box w/ switches, and knobs on pipes on the floor….
now what.
So, i turn knobs and flick switches and run back to the house. Well, the tank has to drain, so, we keep moving containers around, and tossin it out the door when full. Drag what we can out of the office, laying out what is soaking. All my paperwork and a ton of my books are destroyed. My computers, completley saturated. Amber turns the monitors over, and water pours out of them. Hard drives. Same deal. Everything is completley soaked. ARGH!
Anyways, i will spare you all the gory details. The room was gutted, and put back together. I’m still working on putting it back together, and we should be back up to full speed in the next week and a half.
